A 19-year-old man is being sought in the Monday night shooting of a 7-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy in East Baltimore, police Detective Eric Eason said yesterday.

Jmal Jones of the 600 block of Cator Ave. and Angelena Richardson of the 300 block of E. 21st St. were shot inside a house in the 2100 block of Barclay St., Eason said. Angelena was treated and released from Johns Hopkins Hospital, where Jones was arrested on an escape warrant and returned to Boys Village in Cheltenham, Prince George's County.

Eason said Jones, who escaped from Boys Village last month, had been sought for questioning in the April slaying of a man in the 300 block of E. 21st St. He said the suspect -- a member of a gang called the "L &T B Boys" (Lanvale and Barclay streets) -- is accused of shooting Jones in retaliation.

"Jones was not a member of a rival gang, but we intend to talk to him about" the April slaying, Eason said. He said Mantice Shameil Parker of the 400 block of Pitman Place was charged in a warrant with two counts of attempted murder in Monday's incident.
