Anne Arundel Community College has named Weymouth Spence assistant dean and chairman of the Allied Health Technologies division.
Spence, who was the director of education in radiologic science professions at Middlesex Community Technical College in Connecticut since 1979, succeeds Rose Rivera, who retired this year.
Spence, who lives in Odenton, will oversee instructional programs such as radiology technology, EMT and medical assisting, and develop new programs such as a physician assistant and physical therapist assistant programs.
Spence earned an associate's degree at West Indies College in Mandeville, Jamaica, and his bachelor's in biology at Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts. He also received an associate's degree in radiologic technology at Kettering College of Medical Arts in Ohio, a master's in education at Central Connecticut State University in Connecticut, and a doctorate in vocational/technical/occupational education at Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
