Anne Arundel County Executive Joseph W. Alton, Jr. ordered the county controller yesterday to withhold teacher pay raises during President Nixon's 90-day freeze on wages and prices. -- The Sun, Sept. 3, 1971.

The Anne Arundel County Council unanimously passed an immediate zoning moratorium for the Severna Park area after defeating a move to impose a countywide moratorium. -- The Sun, Sept. 21, 1971.
