White Sox: Homers by Lyle Mouton and Greg Norton extended Chicago's team-record homer total to 195.

Tigers: Set a major-league record by striking out 1,268 times, surpassing the 1,203 by the 1968 New York Mets. Their pitching staff set an AL record with a 6.42 ERA, breaking the mark of 6.24 by the 1936 St. Louis Browns.
