Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Northeastern District

Assault: Police were seeking a man driving a 1984 Toyota van with unknown Virginia tags who attempted to run down a woman Saturday in the 1400 block of Woodbourne Ave.

Northern District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder, 10-speed bike and a carrying bag for sports equipment, all valued at more than $400, were stolen Saturday from a house in the 3900 block of Juniper Road.

Robbery: A woman was in the 2700 block of Barclay St. on Saturday when she was attacked from behind by a man who choked her and robbed her of $200.

Robbery/stabbing: A 30-year-old man was in the 900 block of Montpelier St. on Saturday when a man robbed him of $16 and then stabbed him in the stomach and left leg. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Northwestern District

Burglary/arrest: Police arrested a man Saturday after he entered Good N Cheap, a store in the 5200 block of Park Heights Ave., through a rear basement door. No property was taken. Charged with burglary was William H. Carter, 35, of the 2800 block of W. Garrison Ave.

Robbery: A gunman robbed Kim's Liquors and Groceries in the 200 block of N. Monastery Ave. on Saturday after striking a female employee with the butt of his handgun. The employee refused medical attention.

Essex Precinct

Cab holdup: An Atwater Cab driver was at Back River Neck Road and Williams Avenue on Saturday when a man robbed him of an undisclosed sum of money after cutting him on the hand with a knife.

North Point Precinct

Theft/arrest: A 29-year-old Essex woman from the 900 block of N. Marlyn Ave. was arrested Saturday when she attempted to leave the Ames store at the North Point Mall without paying for 25 packs of batteries and several cartons of headache medicine, all valued at more than $200.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: A man, who asked another man for directions in the 8100 block of Harford Road on Saturday, was assaulted and robbed of nearly $50.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: A 39-year-old man was at Shealey and Delaware avenues Saturday when a man armed with a knife threatened to cut him and robbed him of $200.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Nearly $500 was stolen Saturday from a bedroom in a house in the 20300 block of Old York Road. Entry was gained through a kitchen window.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: Money was stolen between Friday and Saturday from a classroom at Hebbville Elementary School in the 3300 block of Washington Ave.

Abduction/assault: A 21-year-old Baltimore City man was abducted near his home Saturday and taken to a house in the 3000 block of St. Lukes Lane, where he was beaten with a handgun and a baseball bat by several men. The victim escaped and flagged down a police officer. He was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Robbery: Two men abducted a 30-year-old man from the Forest Park area of Baltimore City on Friday and took him to an automated teller machine in the 2100 block of Gwynn Oak Ave., where they forced him to remove more than $300 from his account.
