W. Maryland beaten, 7-6

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Reserve quarterback Kory Stauffer threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Ron Floyd with 29 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and Mark McGonagle converted the extra point to give Ursinus a 7-6 Centennial Conference win over Western Maryland yesterday.

Green Terror junior Kevin Brown tied a conference record with three interceptions, and Gavin DeFreitas rushed for 106 yards.

The win enabled Ursinus (4-0) to continue its best start in 65 years. Western Maryland last started 0-4 in 1987.
