Dodgers: Hideo Nomo finished his second major-league regular season with a 3.19 ERA and 234 strikeouts in 33 starts. In his NL Rookie of the Year campaign, he had a 13-6 record in 28 starts, with a 2.54 ERA and an NL-leading 236 strikeouts.

Marlins: Florida pitchers lead the majors with a team-record 13 shutouts.

Rockies: Jayhawk Owens left the game in the fourth with a bruised knuckle on his right hand. Darren Holmes set a team record of retiring 21 consecutive batters when he pitched a perfect seventh.
