Candidates' forum offered for congressional districts

Voters in Maryland's 2nd and 3rd congressional districts will have an opportunity to learn where their candidates stand on a number of issues at a forum from 12: 30 p.m. to 2: 30 p.m. tomorrow at the Pascal Senior Center in Glen Burnie.

The forum will feature the four candidates for the two seats. They are 2nd District Rep. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., a Republican, and his Democratic challenger, Connie Galiazzo DeJuliis; and 3rd District Democrat Benjamin L. Cardin and his GOP challenger, Patrick L. McDonough.

The event is sponsored by the Maryland AARP/VOTE.

All county library branches will be closed Friday

All branches of the Anne Arundel County Public Library system will be closed Friday for an all-staff meeting for staff development and training. All branches will reopen Saturday.

Branch hours will also change Tuesday. The Annapolis, Crofton, North County and Severna Park branches will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. All other branches will open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The library is also taking reservations for meeting room use for 1997, beginning Tuesday. Bookings for meeting rooms at all branches except Maryland City will be taken on a first-come basis. Meeting rooms are not available Sundays.
