Crofton teen-ager is raped by man who was hitchhiking near Annapolis

A 16-year-old Crofton girl was raped Thursday by a hitchhiker she had driven to Annapolis, county police said.

The girl told police she picked up the man at the corner of Davidsonville Road and Duke of Kent Drive about 11:30 p.m. tTC after he said he was stranded. She drove him to Annapolis Mall, police said, then to a house on Old Admiral Court, about a mile away.

Police said the man attacked the teen-ager after she pulled her car into the driveway. The assailant then got out of the car and walked off, police said.

The victim described him as white, about 18, with brown hair, green eyes and three earrings in his right ear. He had an unidentified tattoo on his left biceps and was wearing khaki pants, a white polo shirt and a University of Southern California baseball cap.

Greenbelt man shot twice after argument in laurel

A Greenbelt man was shot twice Thursday after he got into an argument with an acquaintance outside a house in Laurel, county police said.

The victim, Harold Nathaniel Rustin, 30, of the 9100 block of Edmonston court was listed in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
