Davidsonville homes robbed of tools

September 27, 1996

More than $2,200 worth of tools and lawn equipment were stolen from two Davidsonville homes overnight Tuesday, county police said.

Wilma Lanneau, 59, of the 3500 block of Mobile Court and John Allen Hinch, 48, of the 3500 block of Jamestown Road called police shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday to report the burglaries.

Lanneau told police a burglar broke into her garage through a side window, opened the garage door and took a chain saw and a $250 mulcher. It appeared the thief backed a truck up to the garage door to load the items, police said.

A similar method was used to steal a garden tiller, air compressor, toolbox, and several tools, all valued at $2,000, from Hinch's garage.
