Concert to benefit food bank, pantry

A "Meet the Need" concert to benefit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank and Brooklyn United Methodist Church Food Pantry, will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the church, Fourth Street and Pontiac Avenue.

Bruce Webster, a singer and songwriter, will perform, along with a guest artist. Donation is $5.

Grace Lutheran to hold annual supper tomorrow

Grace English Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold its 59th annual crab cake and ham supper from 4: 30 p.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow in the church hall, 8601 Valleyview Road, Lutherville.

The menu includes German potato salad, coleslaw, stewed tomatoes, green beans, rolls, beverage and cinnamon cake.

Ticket are $11 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 11. Carryout is 50 cents more. Information: 828-5115.

Women's group plans yard and bake sale

The Christian Women's Fellowship of Boulevard Christian Church will hold a yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow in the lower parking lot of the church, 920 N. Essex Ave. off Marlyn Avenue behind Middlesex Shopping Center.

Missionary group to mark anniversary

The Missionary Society of Fulton Baptist Church, 1630 W. North Ave., will observe its 76th anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be the Rev. Herman Ford of Fountain Baptist Church in Baltimore.

Hadassah to meet at Beth El Monday

Hadassah will meet at 6: 45 p.m. Monday at Beth El Congregation, 8101 Park Heights Ave.

The meeting will feature dessert and dialogue on "Human Rights: A Jewish Issue."

Beginning at 8 p.m., guest speakers will discuss "Ransoming Captives: Bought and Freed in the Sudan" with Sun columnist Gregory P. Kane and "Ransoming Captives: Our Jewish Responsibility" with Rabbi Elan Adler of Beth Tifloh Congregation.

Admission is $5 for guests and members who are not paid up, and $3 for paid-up members and associates.

Morgan State Choir to perform Sunday

The Morgan State University Choir will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at Epworth United Methodist Chapel, St. Luke's Lane and Liberty Road.

Art sale Sunday at Arbutus church

The Patronage of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church will sponsor an "Icons from Russia" art sale from 10: 30 a.m. to noon Sunday at the church, at Linden Avenue and Highview Road in Arbutus.

Bible translators to hold banquet Oct. 18

Wycliffe Associates, which translates the Bible into several languages, will hold a free banquet at 6: 45 p.m. Oct. 18 at Trinity Assembly of God, 2122 W. Joppa Road in Lutherville.

Torah presentation at Har Sinai Oct. 13

Yeshivat Rambam will be the recipient of Har Sinai's first Sefer Torah during a Torah dedication program Oct. 13 at the school, 6300 Park Heights Ave.

The Torah is being presented in memory of Ludwig Stiefel.

After a 1: 30 p.m. parade starting at Fords Lane and Park Heights Avenue, the Torah will be carried to the school escorted by the students, faculty members, board members and their families and friends.
