County police are looking for witnesses to an early-morning shooting Monday that left a Hanover man in critical condition at a Baltimore hospital yesterday.

Although police have arrested a suspect in the shooting of Scott Donovan Ryan, 23, of the 100 block of Chesapeake Mobile Court, they have not recovered a weapon or a vehicle.

Ryan is being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Victor Major Briscoe, 23, of the 3600 block of Jeff Road in Landover was arrested late Monday and charged with assault with intent to murder in the attack. He is being held on $35,000 bond in the county Detention Center.

Police said Ryan was in his bedroom shortly after 4 a.m. Monday when a bullet came through the window and struck him in the chest. Ryan made his way to the home of a neighbor, who called police.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen a car or truck parked on Ridge Chapel Road near the entrance to Joe Cannon Stadium between 2 a.m. and 4: 30 a.m. Monday or who has other information to call Sgt. Donald Hauf at 222-3456
