Man, 32, is held in attack on woman, 84, outside store

Police charged a 32-year-old Baltimore man Monday with robbing and assaulting an 84-year-old Ellicott City woman outside an Ellicott City Kmart store, Howard County police said yesterday.

Baltimore City police stopped Dwight Thomas Windsor Jr. of the 9700 block of Bernadotte Court in a 1988 white Pontiac that had been reported stolen in Anne Arundel County, said Sgt. Steven Keller, a Howard County police spokesman.

Windsor is being held in Anne Arundel County on robbery and assault charges.

The victim was walking to her car in the parking lot of the Kmart at Chatham Mall on U.S. 40 when someone grabbed her from behind. She was injured in the attack, police said.
