A 21-year-old Annapolis man was injured Sunday after a man shot at his car in front of a Severn convenience store, county police said.

The man, whom police did not identify, and a 25-year-old Arnold man were sitting in a car parked in front of the Pioneer Food Market at Reece Road and Pioneer Drive in Severn about 9: 30 p.m. talking to two women when a gunman approached from the north side of the building and ran toward the car, police said.

The Annapolis man began to drive off when the gunman began shooting at the car, police said. Several bullets struck the car and the driver was cut on his head, either by a bullet or by shattered glass, police said. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The Arnold man was not injured.

Police searched for the gunman, but did not find him. They do not have a detailed description of the gunman.
