On the field: Toronto starter Paul Quantrill was hit on the right foot by a shot up the middle off the bat of Mark Parent in the third, and he was pulled after the completion of the inning. Quantrill was examined, but X-rays were negative.
In the field: Blue Jays designated hitter Carlos Delgado homered in his first at-bat and tripled in his second, so when he came to bat in the sixth with a runner at second and two out, Orioles starter Scott Erickson intentionally walked him. But Charlie O'Brien ruined the strategy by pulling an RBI double down the left-field line, which tied the score at 4-4.
