A Northern High School student has been charged as an adult in the rape of a 14-year-old girl in a school restroom on Sept. 16, Baltimore police said yesterday.

Dante Rooks, 16, of the 3500 block of Glenmore Ave. was charged with second-degree rape and was being held in lieu of $20,000 bond at the Central Booking and Intake Center, police said.

The victim told police that she and a male student got into a fight at the school Sept. 16 and that she chased him to the fourth floor, where he pulled her into a restroom and raped her.

The boy fled when two other male students entered the restroom, said Agent Robert W. Weinhold Jr., a police spokesman.

The victim reported the incident to school officials, who saw blood on her clothing and called a city ambulance to take her to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she was examined.
