Roland Terrace Democratic Club to sponsor crab feast on Friday

COOL FALL temperatures, hot spicy crabs. The Roland Terrace Democratic Club will sponsor a crab feast from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday at its meeting hall.

The $25-a-person cost includes steamed crabs, crab soup, green table and more.

The club is at 619 Matthews Ave. Reserve tickets by calling Virginia Uzialko, 789-2013, or the club, 636-1504, after 7 p.m.

Community yard sale

Residents of the Olde Brooklyn Park are invited to participate in the annual community yard sale Oct. 5.

Yard sales will take place at the individual houses. Start gathering your "oldies but goodies" and enjoy the day outside with your neighbors.

Student pictures

Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle School students will have their pictures taken for the yearbook, identification cards and school records on Tuesday.

The school will have volunteer orientation programs at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the media center. If you have a few hours each week to help in the office or classroom, call 691-4344.

Back-to-school night

Parents are invited to the annual back-to-school night at North County High School at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the auditorium. Parents will be introduced to members of the staff and hear a review of the 1996-97 School Improvement Plan. They then will follow their child's academic schedule to meet with their teachers to learn about programs, curriculum, expectations and classroom procedures.

PTSA membership dues for the 1996-97 school year will be collected: $3 for a single membership and $5 for a family.

Table reservations are being accepted for the PTSA's annual fall flea market, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2. The cost is $15 a table. Call Vicki Zephyr, 761-3935, to reserve a table.

Speakers bureau

If your club or civic group needs a speaker, try the Harbor Hospital Center LifeCourse Speakers Bureau.

The bureau will work with your group to supply a physician or other health care professional to discuss a wide range of topics. For more information, call 347-3478.

Festival bus

The Arundel Improvement Association CASOS Senior Club will sponsor a trip to the Carroll County Fall Festival on Oct. 5.

The bus will leave the association parking lot on Cross Street at 9: 30 a.m. The $7 fee includes transportation and admission to the festival. For more information, call 789-2192.
