Mount Calvary School appoints Spears as its principal

The Rev. George E. Golden, pastor of Mount Calvary Roman Catholic Church in Forestville, Prince George's County, has announced the appointment of Sister Barbara Spears as principal of Mount Calvary School, which has 475 students from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Spears formerly was president and principal of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.

Mass and healing service tonight at Pylesville church

A Mass and healing service will be celebrated by the Rev. Jack Farrell at 7: 30 p.m. today at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Pylesville.

At the healing service, congregants will pray for the physical, spiritual, emotional and inner healing of people of all ages. This is not a celebration of the sacrament of the sick.

Lecture about Nicaragua at Ascension Evangelical

North Glen Baptist Church will sponsor gospel music by The Brooklyn Boys, Sylvia Monroe, The Brothers and Refuge at its fourth annual Brush Arbor Day from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the church, 508 Furnace Branch Road, Glen Burnie.

Lifebuilders Outreach Ministries of First Abyssinian Baptist Church will sponsor a health fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the church, 2500 Arunah Ave., Baltimore.

First Baptist Church to hold a series of nightly revivals

First Baptist Church of Cherry Hill will have a revival at 7: 30 nightly Monday through Sept. 27 at the church, 823 Cherry Hill Road, Baltimore.

The theme of the revival is "A Christian Body is a Temple in which God Dwells" and the visiting evangelist will be the Rev. Bobby J. Hankerson, pastor of Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church in North Augusta, S.C.
