Traffic stop results in arrest on drug charges

September 17, 1996

A traffic stop for faulty equipment Saturday led to the arrest of a Pasadena woman on drug charges, county police said.

Sharon Lynette Eldridge, 37, of the 7900 block of Freetown Road was charged with possession of marijuana.

Police working in Freetown stopped a blue Toyota on New Freetown Road for an unspecified equipment violation. The driver stepped out of the car, and police asked her for her license and registration. The woman mumbled, and police asked again for her license and registration, police said.

When she mumbled a second time, police said, officers could see something in her mouth and forced her to spit it out. The packages she spat out contained what tested positive for marijuana, police said.
