19-year-old charged in robbery and assault of youngster, 14

A Columbia teen-ager was charged with robbing and assaulting a 14-year-old boy who was walking on a footbridge over Little Patuxent Parkway Saturday evening in Columbia's Town Center, Howard County police said yesterday.

Kinnard Sean Walker, 19, of the 11800 block of New Country Lane in Columbia's Hickory Ridge village, was in a group of 10 to 12 other males, police said. The rest fled on foot.

The victim was robbed about 8 p.m. of two lighters and an unspecified amount of money, but otherwise was unharmed, police said.
