Shorebirds lose Game 1 on 10th-inning single

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Pinch hitter Gregg Morrison singled in the bottom of the 10th inning last night to give the Savannah Sand Gnats a 3-2 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds in the first game of the South Atlantic League championship series.

The best-of-five series continues at 7 p.m. tonight in Savannah.

Delmarva had tied the game at 2-2 in the eighth with a sacrifice fly, but Rafael Ozuna reached on a two-base error in the 10th to start the winning rally.

Delmarva had led, 1-0, but the Sand Gnats scored single runs in the sixth and seventh to take a 2-1 lead.
