Shorebirds advance to finals with 5-0 win

SALISBURY -- The Delmarva Shorebirds advanced to the Single-A South Atlantic League championship series last night, scoring three runs in the first inning of a 5-0 win over the Asheville Tourists and clinching the best-of-three series, 2-1. Asheville had won the series opener.

The format for the championship series with the Savannah Sand Gnats will be announced today.
