Ala.-Birmingham tops Loyola in men's soccer Terps tournament postponed by rain

Emmanuele Elandou scored twice, including the game-winner with 15: 52 left, as Alabama-Birmingham defeated Loyola, 2-1, in men's soccer in the Wake Forest Classic yesterday in Winston-Salem, N.C.

L The Greyhounds (0-1-1) play South Florida tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Loyola tied the game in the second half on a penalty kick by Kevin Alvero.

The Blazers (2-0) quickly regained the lead when Elandou scored two minutes later.

Loukas Pataconstantinou recorded three saves for Alabama-Birmingham.

Maryland postponed: Yesterday's play at the Diadora/3 Brothers Classic in College Park was postponed because of inclement weather.

The men's soccer games were rescheduled for today, with Hofstra and Georgetown playing at 10 a.m., followed by Maryland vs. Florida International at 12: 30 p.m.

Tomorrow, it will be Georgetown vs. Florida International at noon, followed by Maryland vs. Hofstra at 2: 30 p.m.
