Pat Wolsh first in Debby's Turn

September 07, 1996|By Tom Keyser

The determined Pat Wolsh splashed through the mud yesterday and fought off a stretch challenge to win the six-furlong $50,000 Debby's Turn Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Pimlico.

The J. William "Bill" Boniface-trained filly edged Garden Street by a neck and paid $21.40 to win. Owned and bred by Kennard Warfield Jr., Pat Wolsh was ridden by Joe Rocco. She is a daughter of Allen's Prospect.
