Teen flees as men break into apartment

September 06, 1996

Three men, one with a sawed-off shotgun, kicked in the front door of a Glen Burnie apartment Wednesday and ransacked it as a 16-year-old boy fled from a second-floor window.

The youth, who called police from a neighbor's house, said the men barged into the apartment in the 6400 block of Bricktown Circle shortly before 10: 30 p.m.

One wore a dark, woolen ski mask and a dark, hooded sweat shirt, and carried a sawed-off shotgun with a silver-colored barrel and a dark stock, the youth told police.

He did not give detailed descriptions of the others.

Police said they found the apartment had been ransacked, as if the men had been looking for a particular item. The burglars left through a rear sliding glass door, police said. The youth told police it did not appear that anything was taken.
