Fantasy watch

September 06, 1996

Some tips this week for fantasy football players:

Players to keep

WR Cris Carter, Vikings: Scored four TDs in two games against Falcons last year.

RB Barry Sanders, Lions: Could match career-best 237-yard performance against Bucs in 1994.

TE Ben Coates, Patriots: Scored seven TDs against Bills last season, his best against any single team.

QB Steve Young, 49ers: Has passed for 20 TDs and been intercepted only four times in 13 games against Rams.

Players to sit down

RB Harvey Williams, Raiders: Tries to rebound against Chiefs defense that has allowed more than two TDs in just three of its past 17 games.

QB Jim Everett, Saints: Emerging Panthers sack attack should cause problems.

RB Emmitt Smith, Cowboys: Scored five TDs against Giants last year but is doubtful with injury.
