1995 record: 8-2.
Coach: Kevin Reilly (career record 55-18).
Top players: Tim Eggleston, Sr., T; Andy Gasdia, Sr., QB-DB; Joe Gasdia, Sr., C-DT; Scipio Osborne, Sr., T; Cliff Simmons, Sr., RB-LB; Gary Simms, Sr., OG-DT; Gene Burston, Jr., T
Outlook: Preseason indicators have team ahead of where it was at this time last year. There is a strong group of holdovers, and some of last year's JV players have the potential to help right away.
Bel Air Bobcats
1995 record: 4-6.
Coach: Bruce Riley (career record 16-14).
Top players: Pete Cunningham, Sr., OG-LB; Jim Shea, Sr., OG-DT; Tim Smallwood, Sr., RB-LB; J.D. Tarr, Sr., QB-DB; Tim Wilson, Sr., T; Rob Yoho, Sr., RB-DB.
Outlook: The defense has the ability to be among the county's best, and the offense shows steady improvement, but team's success will depend on staying healthy.
C. Milton Wright Mustangs
1995 record: 10-2.
Coach: Stephen Harward (career record 83-17).
Top players: Adam Bantner, Sr., RB-DB; Ryan Bodway, Sr., FB-LB; Pete Fountain, Sr., WR-DB; Pete Frostead, Sr., LB; Jake Kramer, Sr., DE; Troy Lawler, Sr., TE; Walt Leizear, Sr., DT; Scott Rudolph, Sr., OT; Ryan Shek, Sr., QB-DB; Jason Shiles, Sr., RB; Scott Turner, Sr., C.
Outlook: The strength of the team should be its offensive line, where all starters return. Overall there are 15 returning starters -- eight on offense, seven on defense.
1995 record: 4-6.
Coach: Fred Myers (Harford career record 7-13).
Top players: Damon Burman, Sr., RB-DB; Derrick Davis, Sr., OG-LB; Robby Gaines, Sr., E; Brian Graper, Sr., C; Rodney Howard, Sr., T; Carlos Putney, Sr., FB-LB; George Queen, Sr., RB-DE; Pete Sculley, Sr., T.
Outlook: There will be more offense-defense balance, with the potential for more scoring than a year ago. The linebackers are strength of defense, but younger players will have to fill some holes.
1995 record: 6-4.
Coach: Dave Cesky (career record 94-89).
Top players: Jerel Jeffries, Sr., WR; Mike Levy, Sr., T; Chris Ogle, Sr., QB; Matt Sutphin, Sr., RB; Gene Liebel, Jr., RB.
Outlook: Cesky believes this is his best squad in 15 years. However, beyond the first unit, the players are young, and the team doesn't have much depth.
Harford Tech Cobras
1995 record: 1-5.
Coach: Jim Foltz (career record 1-5).
Top players: Dominic Bonvegna, Sr., FB-DL; Will Quick, Sr., RB-LB.
Outlook: Second-year program has 49 candidates, 35 of whom are freshmen and sophomores. Positive experiences from last year and the preseason scrimmages provide solid building blocks.
Havre de Grace Warriors
1995 record: 8-4.
Coach: Tom Marron (career record 160-150).
Top players: Wilbur Ballard, Sr., RB; Brian Cullum, Sr., C; Matt Grissom, Sr., E; Al Mann, Sr., RB; Damond Presberry, Sr., QB; Brian Wainwright, Sr., G; Tim Wilson, Sr., WB; Jason Bauer, Jr., T; Sam Smith, Jr., RB; Brad Spence, Jr., T; Jamaal Waldon, Jr., WB; Chris Willis, Jr., G.
Outlook: If injury-free, this will be a good team, but not at the level of a year ago when seven seniors, led by Metro Player of the Year Billy Jackson, reached the state semifinals. Top two runners are sidelined with injuries, but expected back soon.
John Carroll Patriots
1995 record: 5-3-1.
Coach: Bill Mackley (career record 77-52).
Top players: Tim Ende, Sr., TE-DB; Kyle Marmen, Sr., T; Brad Meerholz Sr., QB-DB; Kris Nesbitt, FB-LB; Jayson Sawyer, Sr., OG-DT; Brian Schott, Sr., C.
Outlook: After producing school's first winning record since 1987, this year's group should be more familiar with second-year coach's system. Backs are a strength, while size and lack of experience in the offensive line is a weakness.
1995 record: 1-9.
Coach: Greg Komondor (career record 1-9).
Top players: Shawn Adams, Sr., RB; Dorian Cunion, Sr., FB-LB; Dan Gosnell, Sr., OT-DE; Don Laubach, Sr., OG-LB; Chris McKemy, Sr., E; Jorey Keels, Jr., QB; Quadell Pollins, Jr., OT-LB.
Outlook: A healthy team with an improved overall effort could reach .500.
North Harford Hawks
1995 record: 3-7.
Coach: Tim Larrimore (career record 4-16).
Top players: Nick Aejartino, RB-LB; Kevin Bergstrom, Sr., E-DB; Steve Kirn, Sr., E-DB; John Noppenberger, Sr., OG-DE; Andrew Pulver, Sr., C-DT; Marshal Richardson, Sr., RB-LB; Mike Richardson, Sr., T; Jimmy Wilson, Sr., E.
Outlook: As with most of the county teams, injuries will be key. This team plays well together, and will be looking to improve record for a second straight year.
