Man killed in motorcycle accident

A Glen Burnie man was killed yesterday when he lost control of his motorcycle, hit a guardrail and skidded along Reece Road, county police said.

Richard Lee Willis, 39, of the 1000 block of Kelso Drive was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said Willis was northbound just north of Severn Road on a 1981 Yamaha 650 about 12: 30 a.m. when he lost control on a curve.

The motorcycle hit a guardrail and slid on its side about 100 feet before coming to rest in the northbound lane of Reece Road. Willis was pinned between the motorcycle and the rail.

Police said speed and alcohol contributed to the crash, and that drugs also might have been involved because Willis smelled of alcohol and police said they found marijuana and a pipe in his clothes.
