Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.


Eastern District

Robbery: Two men -- one armed with a butcher knife -- walked into Ken's Grocery in the 1600 block of N. Wolfe St. about 1: 30 p.m. yesterday and robbed it of $500 and two cartons of cigarettes. One of the men stood at the door while the other pulled the knife, walked to a register and demanded money. The cashier complied, and the man sprayed the woman with Mace.

Theft: Someone broke into the rear passenger window of a 1992 Nissan parked in the 3500 block of Parklawn Ave. shortly after 1 p.m. yesterday and stole a cellular phone, a portable compact disc player, a pair of tennis shoes, CDs and a watch, together worth more than $500.

Robbery: A Baltimore woman was robbed of $280 yesterday as she walked home from a nearby grocery store. Police said the woman was in the 500 block of N. Duncan St. shortly before 10 a.m. when a man approached her from behind and shoved what felt like a handgun in her back.

Northwestern District

Burglary: A burglar who cut his hand after breaking into a house in the 4300 block of Reisterstown Road about 1: 30 a.m. yesterday was arrested after police found him bleeding on the porch, police said. Anthony Sinclair, 30, of the 2600 block of Loyola Southway in Baltimore was charged with burglary. Police said a door was broken in and a glass coffee table shattered.

Theft: Someone broke a window in a 1987 Pontiac and stole a man's briefcase, perfume and personal papers from the car parked overnight Aug. 26 in the 3700 block of W. Strathmore Ave.

Southern District

Robbery: A Baltimore woman was robbed of $15 at gunpoint Sunday as she walked through Federal Hill Park, police said. The woman was in the 400 block of Warren Ave. about 3: 15 a.m. when a man dressed in black pulled a chrome revolver and forced her to lie on her stomach before stealing money from her purse.

Woodlawn Precinct

Robbery: A young male robbed a young male of a GT mountain bike valued at $200 shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Barry Paul Road in Randallstown.

Garrison Precinct

Theft: Nike Air tennis shoes and a Canon camera, total value of $215, were stolen from a 1994 Jeep Cherokee parked in the first block of Wytchwood Court between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday.

Theft: A handgun valued at $450 was stolen from an apartment in the 10900 block of Huntcliff Drive between Saturday and yesterday.

Burglary: A Honda dirt bike and a Yamaha dirt bike, all valued at $2,800, were stolen Sunday or yesterday from a shed behind a home in the 3700 block of Vega Road.

Burglary: A 10-speed Joannau bicycle of unknown value was stolen Sunday morning from a garage in the 7000 block of York Road.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: A cash register and about $1,700 were stolen Sunday from Palmisano's Carry Out in the 8300 block of Harford Road.

Essex Precinct

Stolen car: A green 1985 Chevy Cavalier with Maryland tags DMX 807 and valued at $2,300 was stolen Sunday or yesterday from the 100 block of Cowhide Circle.
