G. Delgado hurt in Timonium spill

Jockey Gilberto Delgado suffered undetermined injuries after being thrown from his mount at the start of the sixth race at Timonium yesterday.

Delgado, aboard Atern breaking from the inside stall in the gate, went over the rail and struck a vertical support.

The rider was taken to Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where he complained of pain in his lower back. X-rays were taken and he was held overnight for observation.
