A Job Well Done

Admit it. In your mind's eye, you still picture nurses as women in white. Construction workers are muscled men stripped to the waist. Day-care providers remind you of your mother. On Labor Day, we celebrate how outdated these old gender sterotypes have become with portraits of four working men and women.

None of the four has encountered significant discrimination in pursuing nontraditional careers. These days no one questions why they do what they do. The prevailing attitude among co-workers and customers seems to be: Why not?
