DeVore appointed by 1st Urban Fiber

1st Urban Fiber of Hagerstown appointed Donald L. DeVore Jr. as its human resources manager. Formerly with the fine papers/bleached board division of Westvaco and Reynolds Metals Corp., he holds a degree in economics from Frostburg State University and resides in Hagerstown.

Security Square picks Lee for marketing administrator

Security Square Mall has named Tresse Lee marketing administrator for the Woodlawn shopping center. She will assist in the implementation and coordination of promotional and special events and advertising programs. She has over 10 years of retail industry experience and joins the mall from Paul Harris Clothing, where she was a store manager.

Oceanic Systems names Jones a vice president

Oceanic Systems, the Annapolis-based unit of Northrop Grumman that develops and manufactures anti-submarine and underseas systems, announced that Kenneth A. Jones was named vice president of the business unit of the electronic sensors and systems division. He previously had been with Westinghouse as a nuclear engineer. He earned degrees in physics and nuclear engineering from Kalamazoo College and the University of Michigan, respectively, and a graduate degree in nuclear engineering from Carnegie-Mellon.

Rosse chooses Stern for media director

Rosse & Associates has selected Wendy Stern for the position of media director. She will oversee all media planning, budgeting, negotiation and buying. In addition, the University of Baltimore graduate will coordinate primary and secondary media research activities for the Sparks-based advertising and marketing firm.

Francis joins Weinberg Harris

Weinberg Harris & Associates, the Baltimore-based advertising and marketing firm, announced that Elizabeth Francis has joined the Inner Harbor agency as an assistant account executive. She was previously promotions coordinator for WBAL-TV and news director for Prestige Cablevision. A graduate of Hood College, she resides in Sykesville and is a member of the Baltimore Public Relations Council.

Paul Copeland joins Annapolis National Bank

Annapolis National Bank appointed Paul Copeland assistant vice president and branch market manager for its newly opened Severna Park office. He joined the Annapolis institution from a similar position at Citizens Bank of Maryland, where he managed the Laurel operation.

Conko appointed by Naden/Lean

Naden/Lean announced that Barbara Conko was named to its technology group. She comes to the Lutherville-based national accounting and consulting firm from Automated Systems & Programs, where she developed Windows NT and Windows for Workgroup training programs for the U.S. Department of Labor.

Commercial real estate

MacKenzie/O'Conor, Piper taps Frack and Knight

MacKenzie/O'Conor, Piper & Flynn announced that E. James Frack has joined its brokerage division as an investment adviser; he will also be active in the company's financial advisory services division. A certified public accountant, the Timonium resident is a graduate of Loyola College.

The Lutherville-based firm also named Beth Knight, formerly with Cameron Barry Marketing Communications, as director of public relations and advertising. The Baltimore resident is a Notre Dame College graduate.
