County police arrested a Baltimore woman Tuesday on charges of shoplifting $157 worth of clothing from the J. C. Penney store at Marley Station.

Jacqueline Marie Henderson, 38, of the 600 block of E. 37th St. was charged with theft.

Store security guard John Hall told police that he saw a woman take a vest, two skirts and a shirt from a store display to a fitting room shortly after 7 p.m., then leave a few minutes later without the clothing.

Hall said that he stopped the woman as she left the store and found the clothing on her.

Man escapes with shirts after threatening clerk

A man who was stuffing shirts into a bag at a Glen Burnie clothing store Monday got away after he threatened a clerk with a weapon, county police said.

A clerk at the Eddie Bauer store in Marley Station told police that he saw a man putting shirts from a store display into a brown shopping bag shortly after 4 p.m.

When the clerk told the man to put the merchandise back, the man drew a weapon that looked like an ice pick, threatened the clerk and ran out of the store, police said.

Police did not have a detailed description of the bandit.
