Ralph Lee Kent Sr., 70, bricklayer, concrete finisher

Ralph Lee Kent Sr., a retired bricklayer and concrete finisher, died Friday of heart failure at Union Memorial Hospital. He was 70 and lived on McHenry Street in West Baltimore.

He worked in construction beginning in the late 1950s and retired in 1991. He was a member of Local 194 of the Laborers' International Union of North America.

He was born in Honeytown, Calvert County, and educated in county schools.

He was a steward's mate in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 and a member of American Legion Post No. 220 in Calvert County, Patuxent Methodist Church and Shiloh Christian Community Church, where he belonged to the Excelsior Club, and his Neighborhood Block Watch.

In 1946, he married Grace V. Jefferson, who died in 1978.

Services will be held at 8 p.m. today at Shiloh Christian Community Church, 2500 W. Lombard St.

He is survived by two sons, Ralph L. Kent Jr. and James R. Kent, both of Baltimore; three daughters, Sarah D. Kent, Lena M. Kent and Dorothy I. Kent, all of Baltimore; a sister, Dorothy Weathers of Baltimore; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Eric T. 'Bo' King Jr., 75, printing firm executive

Eric T. King Jr., a retired printing executive who was active in Episcopal church affairs, died Saturday of cancer at the Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He was 75.

The Lutherville resident retired as vice president of sales of Barton Cotton Inc., a Baltimore company, in 1981, ending a career that began in 1948.

"Bo" King was a native of Staten Island, N.Y., and a 1942 graduate of Union College.

During World War II, he served in the Navy aboard subchasers in the North Atlantic and was discharged at war's end with the rank of ensign.

He was a member of the vestry at St. Stephen's Traditional Episcopal Church in Timonium, the Baltimore Country Club and the Army-Navy Club Country Club.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Stephen's, 11856 Mays Chapel Road.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Isabel Barton Robinson; a son, Eric T. King III of Elkton; and two daughters, Anne G. King of Baltimore and Eleanor W. Edmunds of Glyndon.
