Bernard B. Jacobs,80, president of the Shubert Organization, the largest owner of Broadway theaters, died yesterday at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y., from complications after bypass surgery.

The Shubert Organization owns 17 Broadway theaters.

The organization also produces plays, and its credits include "A Chorus Line," "Cats," "Passion," "The Heidi Chronicles," "Amadeus," "Dreamgirls," "Sunday in the Park with George" and "Ain't Misbehavin'."

Greg Morris,61, who played technical wizard Barney Collier in the "Mission: Impossible" television series that ran from 1966-1973, was found dead yesterday at home in Las Vegas. The cause of death was not immediately known but he battled brain cancer the past few years.

Mr. Morris was one of the first black actors to star in a hit series during the 1960s.
