Celia Rogers, president of CFR Inc., recently purchased Jerry's Subs and Pizza of Ellicott City, 9380 Baltimore National Pike. Rogers, a resident of Howard County for 18 years, is a certified public accountant and has been employed by several local accounting firms and the Maryland Insurance Group. She was also the owner/operator of A Choice Nanny in Towson for five years until its sale last year.

Mauricio Velasquez, president of the Diversity Training Group, was recently elected president of the board of the Foreign-Born Information and Referral Network of Howard County (FIRN). Velasquez is a consultant and trainer in the fields of diversity, gender equity and mentor training and development. Newly elected as vice president of FIRN was Esen Paradiso, president of Columbia Creative Services. FIRN is a nonprofit organization that assists immigrants to become economically self-sufficient through direct services, advocacy and education.

Janice Baumanof J.M. Bauman Associates has been elected president of the board of directors for the Business Women's Network of Howard County. The network is a nonprofit organization promoting the advancement of women in business.

Samir Chaudharihas joined the staff of George Vaeth Associates, architects and interior designers, as an architectural designer. Chaudhari will expand GVA's computer assisted design department. He holds a master's degree in architecture from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Charles Colemanhas been named as the new manager of information services at Corporate Express Mid-Atlantic Region, based in Jessup. He will be responsible for all telephone and computer operations. Most recently, Coleman developed software for Intuisys. He is a resident of Annapolis.
