Angels update

The Angels have split six games with the Orioles this season, but have fallen into the cellar in the AL West, well out of contention. They are 7-9 since manager Marcel Lacheman stepped down and was replaced by John McNamara. But McNamara has been hospitalized with a blood clot in his right calf and third base coach Joe Maddon is running the team. The Angels have lost 10 of their past 15 road games and won consecutive road games for the first time since June 20 when they won last night in New York. They have not won a series on the road since June 12. The starters are 38-52 this year with a 5.79 ERA and the relievers are bTC 21-16 with 33 saves and a 4.95 ERA. Most of that bullpen success is due to the emergence of closer Troy Percival, who has 32 saves in 34 chances and a 2.08 ERA.
