Hampstead code requires lawns to be mowed

The Town of Hampstead reminds residents and businesses that they are required to keep lawns mowed.

Chapter 47 of the Hampstead Code stipulates that no owner or occupant of any property within town limits shall permit weeds or grass to grow higher than 12 inches.

People who do not comply will have seven days to remedy the situation. After that, penalties will be charged to the owner or occupant, and the town will have the grass mowed at the owner's expense.

Hampstead: Firefighters from Reese and Arcadia in Baltimore County assisted Hampstead at 7: 38 p.m. Wednesday, responding to an electrical odor in the first block of Houck Road. Units were out 25 minutes.
