Annapolis man, 40, charged with selling cocaine to officer

August 23, 1996

Police arrested an Annapolis man yesterday on charges that he sold crack cocaine to an undercover police officer.

Paul Arthur Scott, 40, of the 1400 block of Solomon's Island Road was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute in a school zone.

Members of the Northern District Tactical Patrol were working a sting operation in the 7800 block of Shirley Murphy Court after neighbors complained that drug dealers were working there.

Officer Roger Crawford, posing as a drug customer, bought what later tested positive for crack cocaine from a man about 2 a.m., then left.

Shortly afterward, several officers arrested the man, searched him and found a small amount of what tested positive for crack cocaine.
