Jewish National Fund marks silver anniversary

The Maryland/Delaware Region of the Jewish National Fund commemorates the silver anniversary of its Blue and White Gala at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

This year's celebration coincides with the 3,000th anniversary of Jerusalem and the 95th birthday of the Jewish National Fund.

Television journalist Barbara Walters will speak.

Jack Luskin, chairman of Luskin's Inc., will receive the Keter Shem Tov (Crown of Good Name) Award for his philanthropy and community service.

Proceeds from the event will benefit three projects in Israel -- the Gan Yakdei Yisrael (the Park of the Children of Israel), a unique garden with "milestones of history" that will tell the story of Jerusalem; the JNF Park and Events Center just outside the city; and completion of the Green Belt of 2 million trees that encircles Jerusalem and symbolizes unity.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton birthday celebration set

The 222nd birthday of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will be celebrated at 2 p.m. tomorrow with a service in the Basilica of the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg.

The annual event is sponsored by the Seton Club of Harrisburg, Pa., and the Daughters of Charity at the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Seton.

St. David's Lutheran church to hold fair tomorrow

St. David's Fair will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1032 Musselman Road, Hanover, Pa.

The event will feature games, bingo, food, hayrides and buggy rides and other entertainment.

Proceeds from the fair will go to the Lutheran Camping Appeal, Hanover Area Council of Churches Building Campaign, Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire De- partment and St. David's Scholarship Fund.

St. John Baptist Church to celebrate new pastor

Members of the Greater New St. John Baptist Church at Milton Avenue and Chase Street will celebrate the installation of their third pastor, the Rev. Reginald M. Clark, with a revival meeting today at 7: 30 p.m. and prayer meeting at 9 a.m. tomorrow.

The installation service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 212 E. 25th St.

Morning Star Baptist to honor family, community

A tribute to the long-term families of Morning Star Baptist Church and the Catonsville community will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature music by Ralph Magwood and the Little Ark Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus. The church is at 154 Winters Lane.
