TOWSON -- County police asked for the public's help yesterday in identifying a man who has robbed six convenience stores on the Eastside since Sunday -- including two 45 minutes apart yesterday morning.

The suspect's image was captured on videotape during a robbery at 7: 30 a.m. yesterday at a High's store in the 6900 block of German Hill Road, where the store clerk set off an alarm as both he and the robber held guns.

The man, who ran out of the door before police arrived, also robbed a Royal Farm Store in the 8200 block of Harford Road at 8: 15 a.m., police said. He is described as white, 30 to 40, about lTC

5 feet 10, with a mustache and collar-length straight sandy-blond hair, receding at the front.

Cable blackout affects hundreds in Cockeysville

COCKEYSVILLE

COCKEYSVILLE -- Hundreds of Cockeysville television viewers were without cable service for nearly six hours yesterday.

Comcast Cablevision officials said the cable blackout, the cause of which they did not identify, appeared to be limited to the 21093 ZIP code area. Subscribers reported that cable service was interrupted at 5 p.m. and was restored by 10: 45 p.m.

Bob Heid, 63, of Cockeysville, said he was upset that he missed the Orioles-Mariners game. "I usually watch the ballgames," he said, "but I can't even get an explanation.

City police continue to search for Benjamin Dennis, who has been missing since December when he left Johns Hopkins Hospital after being treated for seizures and failed to return home.

Dennis, 41, of the 1400 block of Carswell St. had brain surgery in 1992 and is easily recognized by a prominent depression in the left side of his skull, police said. He takes Dilantin, an anti-convulsant drug, to control the seizures but his supply probably has run out, police said.

Anyone with information should call the missing persons bureau at 396-2334. Tyrone Tavon Wilson, 18, of the 2300 block of Poplar Grove St., has been charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in a July 29 fatal shooting, city police said.

Tyrone Alston, 43, of the 2200 block of N. Rosedale St., was gunned down in the 1000 block of Bethune Road in Cherry Hill.

Wilson, known as "Little Ty," is known to frequent North Avenue and Longwood Street in West Baltimore, police said. Anyone with information should call the homicide unit at 396-2100.

Southwest Baltimore man slain during argument

A 23-year-old Southwest Baltimore man was fatally shot Tuesday night during an argument with another man, and police are seeking a suspect in the slaying.

Marlo Anthony Mercer of the 4300 block of Connecticut Ave. was in the 4500 block of N. Rogers Ave. about 9: 45 p.m., arguing with another man who shot him in the head. Mercer died at 10: 30 p.m. at Sinai Hospital, police said.

Based on information from witnesses, police have issued a warrant charging Miguel Shawn Harris, 21, of the 2400 block of Barnesley Place in Woodlawn with first-degree murder.
