Top amateur volleyball players from across the United States will battle this weekend at Delaware Seashore State Park in Dewey Beach for a qualifying spot in the $30,000 Jose Cuervo National Finals. And for anyone wishing to participate, there's still time to register.

First- and second-place finishers in the men's and women's open divisions will advance to the nationals, scheduled for Oct. 5-6 in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Fla. Four wild-card teams from regional events across the country also will qualify.

Competition begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Pre-registration fee is $50 for the Open and $40 for A, B and Co-ed divisions. Day-of-event registration is an additional $10 for all divisions. The event is free to spectators. Call (203) 855-8164. Grand Ole Opry star Ricky Skaggs will headline the 34th Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival this weekend at Granite Hill Campground. The four-day event, today through Sunday, features more than 50 hours of music and workshops.

In addition to Skaggs, who will appear on the main stage at 3: 15 p.m. and 8: 30 p.m. Saturday, about 20 bands are scheduled to perform. There will also be band competitions, food and craft vendors.

Battlefield tours of historic Gettysburg are available, with free shuttle service from the campground.

Gates open at 8 a.m. each day and the last performance is scheduled to start at 11 p.m. A four-day ticket package is $70 and a two-package for Saturday and Sunday is $60; individual tickets are $15 Thursday, $25 Friday and Sunday, $35 Saturday. Call (800) 642-8368.
