Severna Park motorist seriously injured in crash

August 21, 1996

A Severna Park man was seriously injured in an early-morning accident yesterday when he lost control of the truck he was driving and ran into a tree, county police said.

Nicholas Breakspeare Alley, 35, of the 200 block of Cypress Creek Road was in serious but stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was taken after the accident. He suffered serious facial lacerations and head injuries, police said.

Alley was northbound on Winchester Road near Summer Run in Arnold shortly after 2 a.m. when he lost control of the 1986 Toyota truck and ran off the right shoulder, police said. Alley steered the car back onto the road but crossed both lanes and ran onto the left shoulder where it struck a tree and flipped over.

Alley was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
