Elkridge: 5700 block of Paradise Ave.: Someone took a car stereo from a car in a garage between 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday. No signs of forced entry were found.

Elkridge: 8400 block of Freedom Court: Someone tried to break into a house between 11 p.m. Sunday and 6: 45 a.m. Monday by cutting a patio door screen, but the door was locked. A chair was placed under an unlocked kitchen window, but no one entered the house.

Elkridge: 8400 block of Freedom Court: Someone entered a house through an unlocked patio door and took cash from a wallet between 1 a.m. and 1: 30 a.m. Monday.

Elkridge: 6600 block of Amberton Road: Someone took a cassette player from Arundel Juice Products at 6: 30 p.m. Sunday after breaking a front window.

Ellicott City: 2600 block of Marriottsville Road: A maroon 1988 Plymouth Voyager, New Jersey tags GLH65T, was stolen between 11: 30 a.m. and 9: 55 p.m. Friday.

Ellicott City: 8300 block of U.S. 40: Someone tried to steal a Ford E350 truck between 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.
