Festival schedules music, movies

Columbia Lakefront Summer Festival, sponsored by the Columbia Association and held on the lawn at Columbia Town Center Lakefront off Little Patuxent Parkway, has released a list of events.

Concerts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays begin at 8 p.m. Sunday concerts begin at 6: 30 p.m. or 7: 30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays are Family Film Nights with movies beginning at dusk, 8: 30 p.m. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages are permitted.

The events are:

Thursday -- Thin Air, a local jazz combo plays music from Motown to Zimbabwe to Nashville to India with American blues.

Friday -- Movie, "The American President."

Saturday -- DC Express, vocals, jazz and rhythm and blues.

Sunday -- Columbia Concert Band Jazz Ensemble at 6: 30 p.m.

Aug. 27 -- Open Stage, music, poetry, comedy, storytelling, all 10-minute performances beginning at 7 p.m. Sign-up necessary.

Aug. 29 -- Movie, "Goldfinger."

Aug. 30 -- Movie, "Goldeneye."

Aug. 31 -- Movie, "The Man With the Golden Gun."

Sept. 1 -- Unity, reggae at 7: 30 p.m. Information: 715-3388.

Town Center: Sterrett Place: A blue 1993 Infiniti, Maryland tags CFF-145, was stolen between 6: 25 a.m. and 5: 30 p.m. Wednesday.
