Century 21/Rosendale makes available information program

Century 21/Rosendale Realty has available a new satellite information program at the firm's Kent Island training facility that will help its agents gain access to top speakers, training sessions and instructors in the real estate industry nationwide.

The program, a combination of RealNet and the Century 21 Television Network, features the latest in industry news and training sessions on topics such as real estate law, money or techniques and technology.

Agents can save hundreds of dollars annually by accessing training courses locally at their training center, rather than traveling about the region or the nation to attend courses and seminars. For information, contact Matthew Rosendale, (410) 758-0333.

OPF office in Timonium among nation's top brokers

REAL Trends, an industry newsletter, recently reported that Lutherville-based O'Conor, Piper & Flynn is among the 350 top real estate firms in the United States.

While these brokers together closed nearly 20 percent of the nation's new and re-sale home transactions -- valued at more than $230 billion -- the Timonium office of OPF was ranked 14th, with 16,120 closed residential transactions during 1995, REAL Trends said. The report is compiled from a nationwide study of transactions of independent residential real estate companies and documented by outside accounting firms.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn, locally owned and managed, has more than 1,400 sales associates in 46 offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

News in Brief

Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. said Richard Watson of the Columbia office was the firm's top producer in Howard County for June with $2 million in home sales. Other top sellers were Carol Cobeth, Ellicott City, $1.1 million; and Anne Cristaldi, Columbia/Broken Land, $836,300.

Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. said Mary Thompson of the Annapolis office was the firm's top producer in Anne Arundel County for June with $1.7 million in home sales. Other top sellers were Michele Sinclair, Crofton, $1.4 million; Steve Graves, Severna Park, $1.1 million; the team of Theresa and Ronnie Stevens, Fort Meade/Odenton, $954,800; Paula Thayer, Downtown Annapolis, $777,000; Sherry LaMartina, Pasadena/Glen Burnie, $578,000; and Lesley Robinson, Deale/South County, $468,000.

On the Move

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn Realtors said Carole Ann Dillow and Iva O'Keefe have joined the Crofton office as sales associates. Both are members of the Anne Arundel County Board of Realtors' Distinguished Sales Club. To obtain membership, an agent must produce more than $2 million in homes sales each year.

Lucky Realty Homes announced the appointment of Michael G. Kermisch as director of acquisitions and planning for the Pikesville-based builder and seller of attached and detached houses. He was formerly president of the Savoy Group and Valley Properties.

Champion Realty has added new sales agents to posts within its organization. Bernie Batzer was named to its Eastern Shore office, Brenda Hearn to the North (Anne Arundel) County office and Leo McDermott was appointed to the commercial sales division of the Severna Park office.

The firm also appointed Avis Williams as operations manager for its in-house mortgage company, Chancellor Mortgage Services.
