Buyers at Springdale in Clarksville, where Dale Thompson Builders is building 18 brick traditional homes on 1- to 3-acre lots, either will back up to or be within walking distance of a 23-acre spring-fed stocked lake.

One home offered in the Howard County community is the Cambridge, which starts at $469,000 for 3,800 square feet. Standard features include 9-foot first-floor ceilings, 42-inch kitchen cabinets, hardwood flooring, a double stainless steel kitchen sink and recessed lighting in the kitchen and foyer.

A first-floor master suite is housed in the right wing of the Cambridge. It has a 13-by-16-foot bedroom, a walk-in closet and bath with whirlpool tub, dual vanities, privacy toilet and separate glass-enclosed shower.

Decorator columns set off the dining and living rooms, which flank the two-story foyer. Both are 12 feet by 13 feet.

Two-zone heat, a passive radon-removal system, hardwood floors, decor sconces in the master bedroom and polished brass exterior light fixtures are some of the standard features in this Howard County development.

A service entry, rear staircase, three-car side-entry garage and 15-by-13-foot study are included in the $498,300 base price of the 4,250-square-foot Quarterfield.

The first floor also has a 19-by-18-foot family room with fireplace, breakfast area, powder and utility/laundry rooms, 14-by-18-foot kitchen with pantry, two coat closets, two-level foyer, and 14-by-15-foot living and dining rooms.

Double doors lead to the second-floor master suite, which has a his-and-her walk-in closet, 14-by-19-foot bedroom, and bath with a whirlpool tub, his-and-her vanities, separate shower, linen closet and privacy toilet.

Bedroom two is next to a full hall bath, while bedrooms three and four share a full bath. A second linen closet is in the hallway.
