Gray Kirk names chief operating officer

Gray Kirk/VanSant Advertising & Public Relations of Baltimore has named a new chief operating officer, culminating a series of new hires in the $90 million agency's efforts to restructure.

Jeff McClelland, the new COO and executive vice president, comes to Baltimore from McAdams, Richman & Ong in Philadelphia, where he was president and chief executive officer. McClelland, 34, led a management team which boosted MR&O's revenues 100 percent in a one-year period, said Roger Gray, president of Gray Kirk.

He fills the position held by Graham Kirk, who moved to Florida two years ago and recently retired.

"Roger Gray is trying to take the agency into the future by assembling a new management team from the top talent in the industry," said spokeswoman Candace White. Some of the new hires are replacing former employees, others are newly created positions, she said.

In the past eight months, Gray has named Cameron Barry senior vice president, public relations; Kate Caldwell strategic planning director; Rick Doyle media director, and Chris Cullen vice president, promotions and business development.
