Man claiming to have gun robs High's store on U.S. 1

A Jessup convenience store was robbed yesterday afternoon by a man who said that he had a gun in a black-and-white bag he was carrying, Howard County police said.

The man entered a High's store in the 7900 block of U.S. 1 about 4: 45 p.m. yesterday and took an unknown amount of money. He ran south on U.S. 1.

Last night, police were searching for the man, who reportedly was wearing a white shirt and green hat, along Mission Road near Interstate 95.

Jessup: 8200 block of U.S. 1: Someone forced open a rear door of an unoccupied trailer between 9: 30 p.m. Tuesday and 7: 40 a.m. Wednesday, but nothing was missing.
