State police said yesterday that a Reisterstown woman who leaped from a Jeep as it crossed the Liberty Road bridge at the Baltimore-Carroll County line early Tuesday night apparently commited suicide.

Earlene D. Huber, 46, of the 200 block of Greenview Ave. died at 3: 25 p.m. Wednesday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police said she had a history of depression and had spoken with her counselor Tuesday morning.

Barry J. Zulauf, 40, the driver of the Jeep, told police that as the vehicle crossed into Carroll County, Huber told him she was "going to end it" and "just bailed out."

Zulauf stopped to help Huber but a witness yelled, "Don't touch her!" and he became frightened and drove away, police said. Zulauf later called police from an Eldersburg shopping center, saying he was the vehicle's driver. After questioning Zulauf, police concluded the death was a suicide.
